There was a time in my life when all I had was $25.00 a week for groceries. And that was all I had left after working all week. There wasn't money for things like clothes, laundry soap..I was still as clean as I could be though, there really are a 1000 ways to use a $1.00 bottle of dawn. I was newly married with a young son and a daughter on the way. In my life I had made a lot of choices that were not the best. There was also a time when I was teenager that I got to experience first hand poverty, hunger & hard times. The broken can be someone living in a penthouse addicted to drugs as well as someone living in a box addicted to alcohol. Some people have made wrong choices that have led them to today. People are messy. Every single one of us has at least one flaw if not many. In order to make the changes God is bringing to this earth for this time we have to be willing to get in the dirt and help someone up, (not hand out, help up), we have to be willing to be the one to listen when no one else hears the cry for help and we have to be willing to do whatever we can and whatever God can do thru us. Will some people go to Hell someday? Absolutely. Will some people go to Heaven someday? Absolutely..
What about inbetween? God has called us, His children, to be the hands and feet of Him. Jesus was thrown an almost half naked woman at Him and didn't even bat an eyelash when He stated "Let He who is without sin cast the first stone". We need that unwavering determination to do whatever God asks of us whenever He asks. Don't let these moments rob your joy. If you cannot be joyful with nothing you will not be happy when God gives you everything. I know what it's like to cry myself to sleep..to live in constant fear. I know what it's like to Love and to Loved. I know that broken people can be dirty, clean, messy or well dressed. We come in all shapes and sizes..and when I say We I mean We. The homeless holding a sign by a freeway is no different to God than you are and we are all just a few choices away from being what we consider good to what we consider bad. So remember this the next time your by someone who smells, who can't afford much or who wastes what they have. They may be broken but so are We and so are you. We are all broken without the Love and Lordship of Jesus Christ and we are all the same in His eyes. But..God came that we may be healed, that we may live a full life. What was lost can be found thru Jesus Christ. We all have the cracks and only He has the super glue that can hold, and bind what was once hurt. Only He can heal, only He can help us Broken.
